Job description

Columbus Community Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Services team. This full-time position provides the opportunity to work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, helping patients restore function, improve independence, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
This role offers a diverse caseload, opportunities for professional growth, and support for specialty certifications and continuing education.
Position Details

  • Department: Rehab Services
  • Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Hours: Monday through Friday
  • Flexible Start Time: Between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
  • Shift Length: 8-hour days
  • Weekend Rotation: Occasional inpatient weekend coverage
Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Treat patients with a variety of orthopedic, neurological, and functional conditions.
  • Provide hand therapy services for upper extremity musculoskeletal and neurological diagnoses.
  • Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints.
  • Assist patients recovering from surgery, stroke (CVA), traumatic brain injury (TBI), Parkinson's disease, concussion, and generalized weakness.
  • Conduct cognitive, visual, and functional assessments.
  • Perform home safety evaluations and recommend adaptive strategies to maximize independence.
  • Contribute to program development and service enhancement initiatives.
Preferred Experience & Specializations
Applicants with experience or interest in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
  • Hand Therapy
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
  • Lymphedema Management
  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT)
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
  • Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
Qualifications
Required:
  • Current Nebraska Occupational Therapist license
  • Registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • PAMS (Physical Agent Modalities) certification, or ability to obtain after hire
Preferred:
  • One year of occupational therapy experience
  • Hand therapy experience
  • CHT certification
  • Lymphedema certification
  • Program development experience
