Weekend Strip Wax information

What is a weekend strip wax?

A Weekend Strip Wax is a professional waxing service typically offered on weekends that uses strip wax (also known as soft wax) to remove unwanted body or facial hair. In this process, a thin layer of warm wax is applied to the skin and then removed using a cloth or paper strip, resulting in smooth, hair-free skin. Weekend appointments are popular for clients who are busy during the workweek and want to prepare for events or simply maintain their grooming routine. Strip waxing is effective for large areas like legs, arms, and backs, and is known for its quick application and efficient hair removal.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in weekend strip waxing roles, and how can they be managed?

Professionals in weekend strip waxing positions often encounter a high volume of clients within a short timeframe, which can be physically demanding and require excellent time management skills. Additionally, maintaining high hygiene standards and client comfort is crucial, especially during busy periods. Developing strong communication skills helps manage client expectations and alleviate concerns, while regular training ensures proper technique and reduces the risk of repetitive strain. Building a supportive rapport with coworkers also helps balance the workload and fosters a positive work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a waxing specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Waxing Specialist, you need knowledge of hair removal techniques, proper sanitation, and a state cosmetology or esthetician license. Familiarity with professional waxing products, sterilization equipment, and booking or POS systems is also essential. Outstanding client service, attention to detail, and a gentle, reassuring demeanor help build trust and ensure client comfort. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering safe, effective treatments and fostering repeat business in a competitive beauty industry.

We are looking for a Senior Housekeeper / Floor Care Lead to join our permanent, on-campus facilities team. With a consistent daytime schedule of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, you can say goodbye to irregular retail or hotel shifts and enjoy a true work-life balance on a single, steady campus.
The Details

Why Work With Us?

  • Great Schedule: Clean, predictable daytime hours with weekends and holidays off.
  • Stable, Year-Round Work: Steady, permanent institutional employment—no seasonal slowdowns.
  • Single Location: Report to the exact same campus every day; no traveling between client sites.
What You’ll Do

  • Detailed Housekeeping: Perform and oversee high-standard cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing of campus buildings.
  • Floor Care Specialty: Lead and execute floor maintenance projects, specifically the professional stripping, sealing, and waxing of VCT/hard floors.
  • Team Leadership: Assist in organizing daily tasks, training staff on cleaning standards, and ensuring the housekeeping team hits their daily goals.
  • Inventory & Quality Control: Keep track of cleaning supplies, monitor equipment, and maintain a sharp eye for areas that need extra attention.
What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Experience: Extensive background in commercial, institutional, or high-end residential housekeeping.
  • Floor Care Expertise: Must have hands-on, practical knowledge of operating floor buffers, stripping old wax, and applying fresh wax coats.
  • Leadership/Management Skills: Prior experience leading, supervising, or training a small cleaning crew is highly preferred.
  • Detail-Oriented Mindset: You don't cut corners; you notice the small things that others pass by.
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality for our 7:00 AM start time.
  • Must be able to pass a standard campus background check.
