This position will lead our team of more than 100 detailers in India while coordinating their efforts with our Project Management teams in Atlanta. • Review 3D structural steel models developed from architectural and structural contract documents.
  • Review shop drawings and erection drawings generated from Tekla models and contract drawings.
  • Evaluate Requests for Information (RFIs) for missing or conflicting project information and coordinate submission to the General Contractor when necessary.
  • Work closely with internal Quality Control personnel to resolve questions and update drawings.
  • Ensure released shop drawings meet project schedules so fabrication milestones are achieved on time.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of structural steel fabrication processes, field erection, and miscellaneous metals.
  • Extensive experience in structural steel modeling and detailing.
  • Previous experience in a checking, lead, or management role.
  • Experience serving as the primary interface between U.S.-based Project Managers and Engineering teams and overseas detailing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule and manage multiple projects at various stages of the detailing process while meeting contractual schedules and priorities established by Project Management.
  • Thorough understanding of AISC detailing standards.
  • Experience implementing company processes, procedures, and best practices related to Tekla Structures and associated software interfaces.
  • Flexible work schedule to effectively collaborate with overseas detailing teams and support business needs.
