Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details
  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, combined adult/pediatric setting
  • Handles trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Day shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 6:45am-7:15pm) on a 36/48 alternating schedule
  • 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
  • Competent in isolation precautions/PPE use and splint application
  • RTO must be submitted with candidate profile
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and critical presentations
  • Perform procedures such as arterial line management, central line care, and chest tube insertion/management as needed
  • Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
