Their responsibilities include assessing athletes’ nutritional needs, creating meal plans tailored to individual sports and training demands, and providing guidance on hydration, recovery, and supplements. They often collaborate with coaches and medical staff during games, practices, or competitions that take place on weekends. Their goal is to help athletes reach peak performance and recover efficiently through evidence-based nutrition strategies.

Familiarity with dietary analysis software, meal planning tools, and evidence-based sports nutrition guidelines is essential. Excellent communication, motivational skills, and the ability to work flexibly with athletes and sports teams are valuable soft skills.
