Soccer Stars is the leading youth soccer program serving children ages 12 months to 13 years across Long Island and Eastern Queens. For nearly 25 years, we've helped thousands of children build confidence, develop athletic skills, and discover a lifelong love of sports through engaging classes, camps, and clinics.

Beyond delivering exceptional programming, we're building one of the fastest-growing youth sports organizations in the region through strategic partnerships, innovative marketing, and a commitment to operational excellence.

We're looking for an ambitious intern who wants to gain real-world experience helping grow a sports business from the inside.

About the Internship

Looking for more than just another internship?

As a Sports Management Intern, you'll work directly with the operations team on meaningful projects that contribute to the growth of our business. This is not a "coffee and copies" internship. You'll gain hands-on experience in coaching oeprations, business development, marketing, partnerships, operations, and strategic planning while learning how a successful youth sports organization operates.

Whether you're interested in sports management, business, marketing, entrepreneurship, or operations, this internship will provide valuable experience and exposure to multiple areas of the business.

What You'll Work OnBusiness Development
  • Research prospective schools, sports clubs, camps, community organizations, and business partners.
  • Support outreach initiatives that help expand Soccer Stars throughout Long Island and Eastern Queens.
  • Assist in identifying new growth opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Help prepare presentations, proposals, and outreach materials.
Coaching Operations & Program Quality
  • Observe classes and complete quality control evaluations to help maintain exceptional coaching standards across all programs.
  • Identify coaching equipment needs, assist with inventory management, and help ensure coaches have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Support coach onboarding, training sessions, and special projects related to coaching operations and program quality.
  • Analyze class feedback and operational processes to identify opportunities to improve the coach and customer experience.
Marketing & Brand Growth
  • Assist with marketing campaigns promoting classes, camps, clinics, and special events.
  • Help create engaging content for social media and digital marketing.
  • Support community outreach and grassroots marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Partnerships
  • Support the management of relationships with existing schools, clubs, and community partners.
  • Assist with partnership communications and follow-up.
  • Help coordinate partnership activations and promotional opportunities.
Business Strategy & Research
  • Conduct competitive analysis within the youth sports industry.
  • Research market trends and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives led by the President.
Operations & Events
  • Assist with day-to-day business operations and special projects.
  • Attend company events, classes, and community activations when appropriate.
  • Support administrative projects that help improve organizational efficiency.

Internship Details

Location: Cherry Valley Sports Complex, West Hempstead, NY

Schedule:

  • Minimum of 22 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments
  • Availability on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM) is required to experience our programs firsthand

Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship. College credit is available.
