Title
Work Study Varsity Sports Photographer
Position Description
The BSU Sports Information Office seeks photographers to work up to 20 hours per week during the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons.
The Varsity Sports Photographer is responsible for all aspects of photography for the Sports Information Office. Work will be performed on the BSU varsity athletics website, game programs and other athletics publications such as local area newsprint publications and Internet news sources.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • taking photographs at games, practices, and events
  • editing photos; uploading images into web content system to create online galleries
  • providing images for social media usage

Photographers may use the department's Canon EOS Rebel T2i camera. Students may use their own gear in addition/instead of department equipment.
Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package

Preferred Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines
  • Must be organized and detailed-oriented
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, often including nights/weekends

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with advanced camera equipment, Photoshop, or other publishing software
  • Experience in sports photography
  • Punctuality and attention to detail are critical components of employment

Physical Demands
Ability to carry a lightweight camera to events.
