SUMMARY
The Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies and Physical Education (KSSPE) at SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a temporary 10-month lecturer position.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
Teaching (70%)

• Teaches 4/4 course load in both Fall and Spring semesters.
• Provides academic advisement for ~40 undergraduate students in the KSSPE Department .

Service (30%)

• Provides a significant service contribution to the KSSPE Department.
• Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
• Serves on one department-level committee per academic year.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in kinesiology, sport studies, physical education, or a related discipline by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate in kinesiology, sport studies, physical education, or a related discipline
• Significant teaching experience

Retirement

• NYS Employees' Retirement System (ERS) and NYS Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) - Defined benefit plans; benefits are based on best Final Average Salary and years of service.
• SUNY Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) - Defined contribution plan; benefits are based on the employer and employee contributions and the success of the investments. Employer contribution is 8% of salary for first seven years of service, 10% thereafter.

Membership for full-time and permanent employees is mandatory. All full-time employees are eligible to elect ERS or the ORP; employees in teaching, librarian, or coach (including assistant) titles are also eligible for TRS and may choose any of the three plans.
