Weekend Solar Installers are professionals who install solar panel systems on residential or commercial properties specifically during weekends. They are often part-time workers or contractors, helping meet the increased demand for solar installations outside regular business hours. Their responsibilities include assembling, mounting, and securing solar panels, ensuring correct wiring, and following safety standards. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work schedules while contributing to renewable energy efforts.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork set top installers apart. These skills ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality solar installations that meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Are weekend solar installer jobs in demand?

Where do weekend solar installers get paid the most?

Weekend solar installers tend to earn higher wages in regions with a strong solar market and higher living costs, such as states with aggressive renewable energy policies. Compensation can also vary based on experience, certifications, and the complexity of installations, with some areas offering premium pay for specialized skills or unionized positions.

What are common challenges faced by weekend solar installers, and how can they be addressed?

Weekend Solar Installers often face the challenge of working in variable weather conditions and adapting to different rooftop environments each week. Time management is crucial, as projects must be completed efficiently within limited weekend hours. Effective communication with team members and site supervisors ensures safety and task coordination. Staying up-to-date with safety protocols and equipment handling can help mitigate risks and enhance job performance. Proactively preparing tools and reviewing project plans before arriving onsite can also streamline the installation process.

Job description

Installer

Bring our products to life where it matters most—on-site, in the real world.

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Installer to join our team. In this role, you’ll take the products we build and ensure they are installed safely, correctly, and professionally at commercial and industrial job sites. From awnings and canopies to signs and custom structures, you’ll be the final step that brings our work to life for the customer.

This is a traveling role that includes job site installations, service work, and occasional overnight stays. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems in the field, and seeing the immediate impact of your work, this is a great opportunity.

What You’ll Do
  • Install awnings, canopies, signs, and related products at commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Service and repair existing installations as needed.
  • Read and interpret prints, drawings, and job specifications.
  • Take field measurements and verify dimensions to ensure accurate manufacturing and installation.
  • Build and assemble welded components per engineering drawings and production standards.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment safely and effectively.
  • Prepare tools, equipment, and materials needed for each job.
  • Document installation and service work through logs, forms, and reports.
  • Identify and report fabrication or installation issues and assist in resolving them.
  • Represent the company professionally while working on customer sites.
  • Travel to job sites, customer locations, and other facilities as required, including overnight stays.
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Maintain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of construction, installation, or related field experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools (tape measure proficiency required).
  • Ability to read and interpret prints or basic technical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Outdoor work in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Frequent ladder work, overhead lifting, bending, twisting, and standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Travel required, including overnight stays and extended work hours.
  • Must be comfortable working in varying weather and job site conditions.
Why Join Our Team?

At ASC, you’ll be part of a team that builds something real...and then goes out and installs it with pride. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands-on field experience, and see the direct impact of your work at every job site. No two days are the same, and every project is an opportunity to build something you can point to and say, “I helped make that happen.”

What You'll Love About Working Here
