Job description

Staff Scientist--Environmental Practice Group Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Staff Scientist to join our environmental group in Granger, IN. The qualified person would work in a team environment with senior staff providing support and conducting review of reports. The qualified person would prepare the supporting reports associated with these activities in accordance with the applicable standards and agency regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Phase I ESA
  • Phase II ESA (e.g., soil and groundwater sample collection)
  • Wetland Determinations and Delineations
  • Wetland and Stormwater Permitting
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Monitoring
  • Remediation oversight, confirmation sample collection, and documentation
  • Independent and strong report writing skills
  • Ability to prepare soil boring logs, cross-sections, and isoconcentration maps
  • Experience with Illinois voluntary site remediation, leaking underground storage tank programs, and TACO regulations
  • Experience with state voluntary site remediation, leaking underground storage tank programs, and regulations
  • A utilization goal (billable hours over paid hours) of 90%
Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science in Environmental, Engineering, or Geological Science
  • 1-5 years of related experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS preferredStrong understanding of health and safety protocols
  • Ability to regionally travel 25%-50%
