Activities Assistant, Weekends
About the Role:

The Activities Assistant supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for residents. This role aligns activities with individual care plans while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as facility policies.
Responsibilities:

  • Activity Planning: Assist with planning and implementing resident activities.

  • Resident Engagement: Encourage participation and track resident involvement, mood, and responsiveness to activities.

  • Care Plan Management: Support individualized activity plans by delivering daily programming aligned with each resident’s needs and care goals.

  • Team Collaboration: Communicate with the care team to ensure coordinated resident support.

  • Resident Support: Provide resources for hobbies and crafts, and assist residents with errands, letter writing, and personal enrichment.

  • Supply Management: Order activity supplies as needed, ensure efficient use of materials, and maintain a well-stocked activity room.

  • Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain timely activity notes reflecting services provided and resident responses.

  • Confidentiality: Uphold all standards of resident confidentiality and promptly report any unauthorized disclosures or concerns.

  • Room Preparation: Set up and clean activity spaces for scheduled programs, ensuring a safe and organized environment.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Participate in regulatory surveys, assist in addressing deficiencies, and stay informed on current standards and best practices.

  • Safety & Preparedness: Follow established safety policies and participate in disaster preparedness drills.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Experience: Experience in an Assisted Living or Senior Care setting preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer software for electronic health records and administrative tasks.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate warmly and effectively in English, demonstrating understanding, patience, and tact.
