The Team

As a Technical member of the Credit360 team, you will participate the development & maintenance of the bank's credit adjudication application.

The incumbent will be involved in multiples streams within the Credit360 application to bring key enhancements and deliverables required to support business banking to Production and then maintain, support, and enhance the application according to user specifications with a high degree of accuracy and functionality.   

The Role

Design of stable, flexible and scalable solutions, root cause, problem-solving and proactively identifying gaps will be a key function of the role in the future.   

Ensuring development standards in unit testing, code coverage and code quality are adhered to. 

Understanding business systems and the credit adjudication business flow.  

The incumbent will also work closely with other internal groups including project teams, production support teams and business users to maintain support and generate new services. The application will be integrated with and dependent on upstream applications and has downstream regulatory dependencies, so the incumbent is required to be able to collaborate with other applications in Credit360's ecosystem. 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Design, development, coding, testing and debugging of application features. 
  • Maintain and Support production support for existing regulatory reporting processes.   
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. 
  • Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain Credit360. 
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties. 
  • Work with Scotiabank infrastructure teams to maintain and support infrastructure and services under management 
  • Conduct root cause analysis to in-scope systems, identify improvements, and drive to implementation. 
  • Contribute to operational plans, processes, and procedures to improve service delivery and resiliency 
  • Lead by example and mentor growing developers in the team. 
  • Support production issues and handle escalations during the day as well as off-hours. 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Must have been a developer in a large product team and seen how different components of a complex architecture come together to deliver a product. 
  • Must have at least 5 years of progressive technical work experience in application programming, system analysis, design, unit testing and debugging 
  • Technical working experience in an Agile environment in an international team. 
  • Must have technical working experience (back end) with RESTful Web Services, Server-side language (Java, SQL), Unit Testing (Junit), Oracle/Postgres Database, Operating Systems (Linux Redhat, Solaris, Windows), Tools (Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, BitBucket, SonarQube, GIT). 
  • Must have working experience in the use of Jenkins or similar tool(s) for building Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines 
  • Must have excellent communication (verbal/written) skills in English and Spanish in order to communicate efficiently and effectively with the different stakeholders 
  • Must have experience in Unit Testing, such as familiarity with JUnit/Jest, Mockito/Mocha etc. 
  • Must be proficient in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jira, Jenkins, Gradle, Bitbucket, Artifactory etc.). 
  • Experience in the following frameworks preferred: Angular, Spring Boot, MyBatis.
