Job description

A full-service acute care hospital in Hudson is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department team. This role is centered on delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in a fast-paced ED environment, working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support urgent and emergent patient needs.

This position involves comprehensive patient assessment and ongoing clinical care in alignment with nursing standards and scope of practice. The RN is responsible for performing pain assessments and reassessments following interventions, carrying out provider-ordered procedures, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the patient medical record.

A key part of the role includes patient and family education, helping individuals understand diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions. This includes translating complex medical information into clear, practical guidance on medication use, potential side effects, disease prevention, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and reduce readmissions.

Qualifications:

  • Nursing Diploma or equivalent RN preparation required

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

  • Minimum of 6 months of Emergency Department RN experience required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required within 6 months of hire

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ENPC required within 6 months of hire

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire
