Heritage Food Service is building the best team of Commercial Kitchen Service Technicians in South Florida!  

We are actively seeking a Hot-Side technician, a mechanically-inclined professional who can accurately diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas, electric, steam, and similar types of commercial kitchen equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: {Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the functions listed below}

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs commercial kitchen equipment that uses gas, electric, and steam to include: grills, ovens, freezers, etc.  
  • Keeps the customer and branch office updated on repair status and part requests to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Completes appropriate technical and manufacturing training/certification ongoing.
  • Adheres company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Manages truck inventory and keeps service vehicle, tools, and uniforms consistent with Heritage standards of excellence.
  • Willingness to work 40 hour weekly schedule and on-call nights and weekends as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA Universal certification; CFESA certification is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • 3+ years of commercial industry experience; Electrical, gas, steam background is a plus.
  • Valid and current Class E (or better) Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Working / Environmental Conditions:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Repeated bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and climbing up and down ladders.
  • Daily travel to work site location.
  • Exposure to hot grease from fryers.
  • On-call weekend rotation (frequency varies with branch size).
  • Occasional to frequent exertion in high temp environment (over heated kitchens, rooftops, etc.).
