About the Role:
1-800 WATER DAMAGE of South Side Chicago is looking for a skilled and dependable Lead Water Damage Remediation Technician to join our growing team in Alsip, IL. This is your chance to lead hands-on restoration work that makes a real difference for homeowners and businesses in their most stressful moments. If you take pride in quality craftsmanship and leading a crew, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and perform water damage assessment, extraction, and structural drying on residential and commercial properties
  • Operate and monitor drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and moisture meters
  • Document job progress with photos, moisture readings, and detailed field notes
  • Communicate with property owners and insurance adjusters throughout the remediation process
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians on proper remediation techniques and safety protocols
  • Perform mold remediation and containment procedures as needed
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with IICRC standards and company guidelines
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in water damage remediation or restoration
  • IICRC WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Experience operating commercial drying and extraction equipment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a field crew
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call emergency response
