The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional weekend or evening shifts required for special events or urgent care needs. • Manage patient appointments effectively by using our electronic health records (EHR) system, ensuring accurate scheduling and timely follow-ups.
• Warmly greet each patient upon arrival, taking the initiative to collect thorough medical histories and prepare them for their examinations.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures with efficiency, ensuring an organized and sterile environment laden with all necessary medical equipment.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing with acute attention to detail, including labeling and documentation, in accordance with established protocols.
• Administer medications under the direct supervision of physicians, adhering strictly to safety standards and dosage guidelines.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests such as urinalysis and EKGs, documenting and interpreting results accurately to aid in patient diagnosis.
• Educate patients regarding medications, procedures, and general healthcare practices to foster understanding and encourage self-management.
• Monitor patient vitals and maintain meticulous records of personal health information to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date patient care records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, including sterilizing instruments and ensuring sufficient medical supplies are available.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care plans that cater to the holistic needs of our patients.

Our clinic serves a diverse patient population in Hempstead, representing various ages and backgrounds. The Medical Assistant will encounter patients ranging from children needing pediatric care to adults requiring comprehensive family health services. Understanding cultural sensitivities and effective communication will be essential in providing tailored care that meets individual patient needs.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred, along with active certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA).

• Proficiency with EHR systems for managing patient records and data entry is crucial.

This full-time Medical Assistant position offers a competitive salary range of USD 50,000 to 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
