Job description

Job Summary
GoodHeart Brand is looking for a reliable and positive CDL Yard Driver / Local Shuttle Driver to join our Warehouse Team. This position is responsible for safely moving trailers between yard areas, loading/unloading docks, and local off-site warehouse locations as needed. The employee will also assist with trailer sanitation, pre-operational inspections, and warehouse duties when needed.
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Workdays: Monday to Friday, with some mandatory weekends as needed based on production needs. (New Year's Day work may be required for end-of-year inventory purposes.)
Schedule: 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM, subject to change based on the production schedule and business needs. Shifts may be up to 12 hours.
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Pay Frequency: Weekly, paid every Friday.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Shuttle trailers between yard areas, parking areas, and loading/unloading docks.
• Move trailers between company facilities and local off-site warehouse locations as needed.
• Make local trips for refueling or other business needs as assigned.
• Ensure trailers placed at the dock are properly positioned, secured, and locked.
• Observe and direct outside drivers to appropriate dock doors, parking areas, or staging locations.
• Complete trailer sanitation prior to reloading, as required.
• Conduct pre-operational checklists and inspections on assigned equipment.
• Report trailer, equipment, safety, or yard concerns to the Warehouse Manager or designated supervisor.
• Operate a stand-up forklift and electric pallet jack as needed to support Warehouse operations, following all required training and safety procedures.
• Follow all DOT, GMP, food safety, safety, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current and active CDL Class A required.
• Clean driving record required.
• Must meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
• Must maintain a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate, as applicable.
• Must be able to pass required DOT pre-employment drug testing and participate in DOT random drug and alcohol testing, as applicable.
• Must meet FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements, including required queries and consent.
• General DOT knowledge regarding the safe operation of semi-trucks and trailers required.
• Food manufacturing, warehouse, yard driver, or shuttle driver experience preferred.
• Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening.
• Experience operating a stand-up forklift and electric pallet jack is required.
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to safely operate semi-trucks and trailers in yard, dock, and local roadway settings.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, Production, and outside drivers.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage trailer movements safely and efficiently.
• Ability to maintain a positive, helpful, and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to comply with DOT/FMCSA, GMP, food safety, safety, and company policies.
• Ability to safely operate a stand-up forklift and electric pallet jack.
• Must be able to operate a commercial motor vehicle on public roads, as required by the position.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, pull, push, and lift for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed. The employee will work in a fast-paced warehouse and yard environment and may be exposed to hot, cold, wet, and noisy conditions. The employee may also be exposed to food production areas, food odors, and food allergens. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel Required
Local travel is required as needed between company facilities, local off-site warehouse locations, and refueling locations. No overnight travel is required.
Pay Range: $20 per hour
