Description:

The Phoenix at Union Hill is seeking a Lead Server to join their team! 


The Lead Server reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director. 

PURPOSE

The Lead Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the communityโ€™s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Phoenix Senior Living

standards. Responsible for proper dining set-up, providing meal and dining services and cleaning

of the dining rooms. Responsible for handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food service. The Lead server will also take on additional responsibilities everything is running properly in the dining hall.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Dining Service Duties

  • Has knowledge of daily and Always Available Menu items and can provide general description to the residents and guest
  • Assist residents with menu selections and responds to pertinent questions about menu items
  • Responsible for taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines
  • Responds to the dining needs of the residents and guest while maintaining Phoenix hospitality and service standards
  • Attends pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities
  • Follow local, state and federal policies regarding food handling
  • Maintains standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health standards

Janitorial Duties

  • Follows all daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • Maintains appropriate communication with the Food and Beverage Director

Compliance/Safety

  • Partners with department directors to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adheres to safety rules and regulations
  • Practice safe food handling according to Phoenix policy to prevent an outbreak of food borne illness in compliance with universal precautions
  • Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, SDS (safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper dining room flow, organization and supplies placement


Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATION

  • Education: High School Diploma/ GED required
  • Previous experience in dining hospitality and / or full service senior living preferred

  • Demonstrate the ability to Multi task and Manage Stress
  • Competent in time management / organizational skills
