Job description

Job Summary:

The Security Guard provides security and maintenance support during evening and early morning hours, including weekends. The role involves patrolling the campus, responding to emergencies, assisting emergency personnel, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Campus Security and Patrol (40%)
    • Conduct regular patrols of campus grounds, buildings, and homes to ensure safety and security.
    • Secure vacated buildings, ensuring all doors are properly locked.
    • Maintain a high-visibility presence to deter unauthorized activities.
  2. Emergency Response (20%)
    • Respond promptly to fire alarms, Lifeline calls, maintenance emergencies, and security alarms.
    • Transport nursing staff to assist independent living residents during emergencies.
    • Escort emergency personnel (e.g., ambulance, fire, police) to designated locations and provide support as needed.
  3. Reporting and Documentation (15%)
    • Record patrol activities, incidents, and emergency responses in designated logbooks.
    • Store reports in designated areas for review by management.
    • Notify on-call personnel or supervisors immediately in case of emergencies.
  4. Maintenance Support (10%)
    • Perform light maintenance tasks as directed by the Director or Plant Operations Manager.

  • Capable of prolonged walking, standing, and patrolling.

  • Availability to work evenings, early mornings, weekends, and respond to emergencies as needed.
