Job description

About the Position
We're looking for a Securities Financing Specialist to support and develop Jane Street's financing capabilities. The ideal candidate has prior experience in financing or securities lending at a bank or buy-side firm, along with strong external relationships with counterparties.
You can expect to work with a broad range of internal teams to understand and manage the various constraints of a quantitative trading firm. You'll also have the opportunity to execute real-time financing decisions and improve our long-term financing strategy.
Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Working closely with trading desks and infrastructure teams to optimize the financing and securities lending transactions across various products
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with prime brokers and other external financing counterparties
  • Being a reliable subject matter expert in the financing markets to support our trading desks' decisions
  • Helping to form our long-term financing strategy by improving and expanding our financing activity and capacity
  • Working with all groups within our Finance department to find robust solutions to strategic and tactical problems
  • Learning about and supporting other products, financing structures, and trading desks within Jane Street
About You
  • Have 2-5 years of relevant financing experience at a buy-side firm or bank (some exposure to credit financing, ideally in corporate bonds, is preferred)
  • Excited and able to cultivate relationships with prime brokers and other external financing counterparties
  • Have strong analytical skills and experience with performing technical data analysis to solve problems (e.g., through previous work experience, STEM coursework)
  • Intellectually curious and motivated to learn about new products, funding trade types, and strategies
  • An effective communicator who works well in a team environment
  • Fluency in Python, SQL, or other programming languages is a strong plus
