Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael is an all-boys private high school offering a classical Jewish education together with a fully-accredited college-preparatory general studies program. Our school schedule accommodates a dual curriculum with Jewish Studies in the morning and General Studies in the afternoon. We are looking for a qualified Science teacher to teach two periods in the afternoon.
We are seeking a passionate science teacher to deliver engaging, hands-on instruction that develops our students' scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Instruction & Planning
- Plan and deliver Georgia state standards-aligned science instruction
- Design lessons that promote critical thinking and scientific inquiry
- Emphasize real-world applications of scientific concepts
- Integrate laboratory experiments and hands-on learning experiences
- Prepare and supervise lab activities
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of lab equipment
- Enforce all safety procedures and protocols
- Classroom Culture & Management
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and focused learning environment
- Encourage curiosity, questioning, and intellectual risk-taking
- Assessment & Communication
- Assess student understanding through classwork, labs, tests, and projects
- Communicate regularly with parents and provide timely feedback
- Fulfill all responsibilities and assignments in a timely manner
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and other faculty
- Be flexible trying different methods of teaching and engaging students
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science-related field
- Experience with laboratory instruction
- Strong content knowledge in Biology & Chemistry
- Preferred experience teaching in a middle or high school
