JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Skilled Trades and Technical Sciences Division is seeking a positive, supportive, and dynamic Fire Science Instructor to teach a diverse community of learners. Preference will be given to candidates who are committed to student success, a commitment to equity, inclusion, and the use of the classroom experience to enhance workplace understanding and performance.

The instructor teaches a full range of fire science coursework with excellence. This position participates collaboratively in curriculum review and development, outcomes assessment, advisory council activities, projects, and other department or College activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree in the discipline or related discipline, current relevant industry certification, plus 2 years of full-time related occupational experience.

Higher education/community college/high school teaching experience preferred.

177 day, 9-month contract.
May include day, evening and/or weekend classes and may involve travel to other campuses.
A teaching demonstration is required as part of the interview process.
Position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval
Hiring process includes passing a background check.
