Clinical Laboratory Scientists Full-TimeOskaloosa, IA 52577, USA

Hours: Full-time (Sunday – Wednesday) (Shifts rotate)

Hours: Full-time (Friday - Sunday) (2nd Shift) FTE = .90

ResponsibilitiesJob Duties:
  • Performs high complexity testing on blood, urine, feces, cerebrospinal fluid, peritoneal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, and other body fluids.
  • Evaluates results of testing and quality controls, calibrations, calibration verification/linearity/reportable range.
  • Performs venipunctures and capillary blood collections using proper patient identification, correct tubes, handling, and labelling.
  • Varied work schedule includes day and night schedules, weekends, and holidays plus on call at least two times per month.
QualificationsRequirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.
  • ASCP, NCA, AMT, MT (AMT) MT (HEW) or CLS certification or equivalent required.
  • Willingness and ability to fill shifts to meet 24-hour staffing needs, including working days, nights, weekends, and holidays plus taking call at least 2 times per month
  • Must be able to respond to call within 20 minutes or less during all weather conditions. If bad weather predicted during call, hospital will provide a room, when feasible.
