We are currently seeking dynamic, collaborative educator to join our middle School team. We are looking for both math and science licensed teachers that enjoy co-teaching and are passionate about their content area.
We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative educator to join our middle school team. This role is designed for a teacher who thrives in a co-teaching environment and is passionate about fostering a "think like a scientist" mindset. You will be responsible for delivering a robust, inquiry-based science curriculum aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) while also supporting student growth in mathematics through targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities
1. NGSS-Aligned Science Instruction
  • Develop and deliver 6th-8th grade science lessons that emphasize the Three Dimensions of NGSS: Disciplinary Core Ideas, Science and Engineering Practices, and Crosscutting Concepts.
  • Facilitate hands-on, phenomena-based learning that encourages students to investigate, model, and argue from evidence.
  • Manage a safe and organized laboratory environment for student exploration.

2. Collaborative Co-Teaching
  • Partner effectively with a co-teacher to provide inclusive instruction.
  • Utilize various co-teaching models (e.g., station teaching, parallel teaching, team teaching) to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate on lesson planning, assessment design, and data analysis to ensure equitable access to the curriculum.

3. Math Intervention
  • Lead small-group math intervention sessions designed to bridge foundational gaps.
  • Use data-driven insights to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Integrate mathematical thinking into the science classroom to reinforce cross-curricular skills.

Qualifications
  • Certification: Valid IL State Teaching License with a Middle School Science endorsement (Math endorsement or experience preferred).
  • Curriculum Expertise: Strong working knowledge of the NGSS framework and evidence-based math intervention strategies.
  • Mindset: A commitment to the co-teacher model and a "growth mindset" regarding student achievement in both STEM and literacy.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with teaching partners and communicating with families.
