Job Description

Job Title: Statistician 

Duration: 9 Months 

Working conditions: 

Normal office conditions/ 0-10% travel etc. 

On-site testing labs and product development project teams. Start Time: 12:00 AM 

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Position Summary: 

The Statistician supports project learning by designing experiments that efficiently and effectively address project needs and analyzing/interpreting results. They consult with other statisticians within the department and work with test method development scientists to understand method intention and guide method evaluation. 

Key Customers: 

Sector Management, Project Sponsors, R&E project teams, External Technical Consultants, and Technical Service Providers 


Customer Expectations: 

Partner with R&E project teams to design experiments to efficiently evaluate product characteristics utilizing appropriate testing methods. 

Utilize creative approaches in designing, analyzing and interpreting experiments. Contribute to discussions regarding interpretation and next steps. 

Document method development and product evaluation experiments in interpretive reports. 

Understand and effectively use the systems and tools utilized to process and analyze data from product research testing 

Carry out project responsibility with limited assistance and direction 

Carry out all work ensuring effective Safety and Quality attitudes and practices. 

Implement projects and programs with excellence to deliver research project objectives. 

Manage self in accordance with the expected One KC behaviors. 



Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Education/Experience: 

Advanced degree (Master's) in Statistics related major / discipline 

0-3 years of work experience utilizing Advanced Statistics methods 

Successful engagement in team-oriented environment to successfully deliver business results 

Preferred qualifications: 

Demonstrated ability of writing and presenting updates to leadership. 

Specific experience designing and analyzing bench testing of non-food consumer products.


Critical skills: 

Understanding of statistical analysis methods and experimental design and ability to transform statistical results into actionable knowledge. 

Proficiency with SAS. 

Ability to synthesize information across recent and historical testing. 

Ability to explain complex information in a simple to understand way - written and verbal - within project teams and at times in non-technical settings. 

Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability in translating product development project needs into experimental design. 

Ability to contribute innovative ideas in a team environment. 

Effective Communication Skills with the ability to discuss technical issues in a business environment (research project teams, suppliers, management, etc.). 

Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing business priorities and assignments. 

Application/Results orientation with primary focus on problem definition and generation of alternative solutions. 

Customer Focus when dealing with internal and external customers. 

Demonstrated experience effectively following engineering procedures and processes.
