Job description

Summary

Our 3TL business unit Transport Drivers play a pivotal role at Columbia Distributing. Responsible for moving supplier product, internal 3TL freight, invoices and Point of Sale materials in a timely and safe manner between our branches and satellite docks. Our transport drivers complete all necessary CDL safety and pre-trip checks including fueling. They will verify the load being delivered as well as return any dunnage or pallets to the warehouse and ensure the secure transport of BOL's, invoices and payments from suppliers and accounts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Pick up, transport, and deliver 3TL specified loads on delivery trucks & trailers in a safe, timely and professional manner.
  • Update and Load 3TL Driver PDA's
  • Handle all Company products according to Company standards
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers and others through your job
  • Complete Safety Pre-Trip Checks according to Government and Company standards
  • Pick up and securely deliver out of market invoices and customer payments
  • This role is primarily no-touch freight the majority of the work being drop and hook only, with occasional loading or unloading with a powered pallet jack
  • Adhere to and follow all company policies, procedures and governmental regulations
  • Adhere to all state liquor laws and regulations
  • Accurately clock in and out, adhering to state labor laws
  • Always Demonstrate behaviors consistent with those of the Company's Core Values
  • Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days/hours of work vary & may include weekends & overtime as necessary.

Travel

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Maintain valid driver's license with current certification and acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous beverage industry experience
  • Six months previous driver experience

Compensation

  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
  • Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
