  • Position Summary

The Industrial Painter supports both dedicated paint operations and general assembly paint functions. This role is responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying industrial and specialty coatings, and painting motors, generators, and related components according to customer and quality specifications. The Industrial Painter works closely with assembly and production teams to ensure efficient workflow, proper documentation, and defect-free finishes while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare generator bodies, parts, and assemblies for painting, including cleaning, masking, surface preparation, and priming as required.
• Mix and prepare paints according to job instructions and customer specifications, including adjusting viscosity/consistency using appropriate thinners and hardeners.
• Apply industrial and specialty coatings such as epoxy, chlorinated rubber, V.S.P. intermediate paints, primers, and ready-mix paints as required.
• Paint motors and generators to customer specifications, ensuring proper coverage, finish quality, and paint thickness per work instructions.
• Maintain paint thickness and finish standards using visual inspection and measuring tools.
• Perform periodic cleaning and maintenance of spray guns, paint tanks, paint booths, and related equipment.
• Support general assembly operations, including performing assembly processes using hand and small power tools when required.
• Review and follow work instructions, basic prints, safety procedures, and setup instructions.
• Verify part numbers and materials prior to painting or assembly.
• Assist with workstation setup, staging of materials, and basic equipment settings.
• Inspect completed work for defects and notify team leads of any quality concerns or deviations.
• Perform rework or rectification as required to meet quality standards.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately.
• Assist with departmental transporting, shifting, loading, and unloading related to painted components.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend established safety, quality, paint, and assembly procedures.
• Experience in industrial painting, manufacturing painting, or general assembly painting preferred.
• Knowledge of paint mixing, surface preparation, and application techniques in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to use hand tools, small power tools, and painting equipment safely.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.

• 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday (Overtime as needed on Friday)
• Day shift: 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM; 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Weekend shift 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday - Sunday
