We are proud to be the vacation-industry leader with global brands - including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises - the most innovative fleet and private destinations, and the best people. Together, we are dedicated to turning the vacation of a lifetime into a lifetime of vacations for our guests.

The Royal Caribbean Group's Public Health Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Public Health reporting to the Manager, Public Health Control.

The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida

The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.

Position Summary:

The Public Health Program Lead plays a strategic role in strengthening Royal Caribbean Group's public health operations by translating epidemiologic intelligence, surveillance findings, health risk communication priorities, and operational data into structured projects, actionable dashboards, stakeholder-ready materials, and measurable process improvements. This role supports evidence-based decision-making across fleet, private destination, and port-of-call excursion operations by coordinating public health initiatives, monitoring risk indicators, and ensuring that technical insights are converted into practical action plans and clear, timely, and appropriate health-risk communications. The Public Health Program Lead helps ensure public health priorities are effectively implemented, communicated, and aligned across the organization to protect the health and well-being of guests and crew.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end public health projects and initiatives, including planning, execution, resource coordination, risk mitigation, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that integrate surveillance, outbreak, regulatory, and operational data to support informed decision-making.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and consultants to translate disease trends, risk assessments, and population health data analyses into project plans, executive briefings, fleetwide action items, and audience-appropriate health risk communication materials.
  • Assist in preparing clear, timely, and evidence-based public health updates, talking points, briefing materials, situation reports, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications to ensure public health messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with epidemiologic evidence.
  • Coordinate regulatory readiness activities, including audits, inspections, certification programs, corrective action plans, and follow-up initiatives across the fleet and private destinations.
  • Collaborate with shipboard and shoreside subject matter and technical experts, as well as other cross-functional teams to implement evidence-based policies, protocols, communication materials, and continuous improvement strategies, as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance trends, outbreak indicators, environmental health metrics, and emerging public health risks to support risk mitigation and communication planning.
  • Maintain project governance and documentation, including milestone tracking, enterprise policy updates, action logs, decision records, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Drive process improvements that leverage data analytics, epidemiologic insights, communication best practices, artificial intelligence, and project management methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and public health preparedness.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Analytics, or related field required.
  • A Project Management certification (PMP) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public health analytics, epidemiology support, regulatory operations, health risk communication, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects involving technical experts, operational teams, communications partners, and senior leaders.
  • Experience supporting disease surveillance, outbreak response, population health reporting, health risk communication, and evidence-based public health programs.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance programs, audits, inspections, corrective actions, and stakeholder engagement within complex operational environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools, including Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of epidemiologic methods, surveillance systems, outbreak response principles, risk assessment processes, and health risk communication practices.
  • Ability to translate epidemiologic findings and technical recommendations into project plans, dashboards, executive briefings, situation reports, and stakeholder communications.

Leadership/Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate messages for leadership, operational teams, shipboard personnel, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with communications professionals to develop and coordinate messaging during routine operations, emerging public health events, and outbreak response activities.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, including MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of maritime public health regulations, fleet operations, and shipboard health programs preferred.
