• 3 days on; 4 days off; 4 days on; 3 days off
• Hours: 6p-6a (Night Shift)

ROCKFORD OVERVIEW
The Owens Corning Rockford Extruded Polystyrene Insulation Facility is a high-performing, non-union plant with world-class standards in safety, reliability, and equipment technology.
Non-union plant employing about 70 employees across 4 shifts; Maintenance team consists of 10 employees. POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on production equipment throughout the facility. This role requires strong technical capability, problem-solving skills, thinking outside the box, and the ability to work independently on shift.
You will support equipment reliability across extrusion lines, conveyance systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, electrical controls, and plant utilities-ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the manufacturing process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MECHANICAL SYSTEMS
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and rebuild gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, chain drives, belts, and mechanical power transmission components
• Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cylinders, valves, pumps, hoses, regulators, filters, and actuators
• Inspect, align, lubricate, and replace components on conveyors, extruders, and material handling equipment
• Perform corrective maintenance and collaborate on reliability improvements
• All other duties assigned or needed
ELECTRICAL & CONTROLS
• Troubleshoot and repair 480V (high voltage) industrial electrical systems, motors and circuits
• Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors, contactors, starters, relays, and VFDs
• Perform root-cause analysis on electrical faults, nuisance trips, and equipment failures
• Work with instrumentation including sensors, flow/pressure devices, temperature controls, and limit switches
• Read/interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentation
• All other duties assigned or needed
GENERAL MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS
• Execute preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance using SAP
• Maintain accurate work order documentation and equipment history
• Follow all Owens Corning safety policies and actively participate in safety culture
• Support process improvements and modifications to enhance reliability and efficiency
• Maintain 5S and good housekeeping standards
• Safety compliance (OSHA, NFPA 70E, L2-5 hears OTO)
• Maintain a high level of attendance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or related environment
• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical schooling or certifications in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, Automated Systems, or related field
• Proven experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical industrial systems
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Lift up to 50 lbs routinely without assistance
• Stand/walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces
• Work 12-hour shifts in hot/cold industrial environments
• Use PPE including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and long sleeves
