ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Completes an initial assessment of client and family to determine home care needs, making necessary revisions per physician orders as status and needs change.
• Scope of Practice: The supervising nurse must be able to assess client needs, develop care plans, and provide guidance to personal care providers.
• Supervisory Visits: Registered nurses must make on-site supervisory visits to the client's home at least once every three months. The frequency of these visits should be increased if the client's health condition changes significantly, including surgeries or hospital stays.
• Home Care Agency: The supervising nurse will be employed by a licensed home care agency.
• Supervision and Direction: Supervise and monitor the performance of field employees, ensuring quality healthcare services. Direct, coordinate, and evaluate the work of nursing staff, including LPNs and CNAs.
• Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients in their homes.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES / AVAILABILITY:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas and Oklahoma.
• 2 years of nursing experience (home health/hospice preferred)
• Registered Nurse (RN) must possess and maintain current CPR certification
• Registered Nurse (RN) must be knowledgeable and have the ability, and the necessary skill and judgment to perform all nursing procedures under the direction of a physician as outlined in the scope of practice in the State's Nurse Practice Act
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct client care
• Must have a valid driver's license and the use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
• Available for work on weekends and holidays as required
• Registered Nurses (RN) must be able to read, write, speak and understand English as needed on the job
• Participate in in-service education programs as mandated by State law (this requirement need not be met exclusively through Right at Home sponsored in-services programs)
