Job Description

We are seeking Registered Nurses with ultrasound-guided IV experience for full-time positions. PICC line training will be provided; prior PICC experience is not required. Opportunities also available for experienced PICC RNs (Per Diem or Full-Time).

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer's clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral, providing you with a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. As a VTP Vascular Access Nurse Consultant you will:

  • Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
  • Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's

Eligible for $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employment, based on prior vascular access experience.

Scheduling

In this role, Consultants visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs. Full-time scheduling requirements include three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Part-time (Per Diem) scheduling requirements include a minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation.

Training and Experience Requirements

  • Ideal candidates are experienced in both ultrasound guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions.
  • Training available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience.
  • Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses, but additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIVs)
  • Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Must LOVE vascular access!

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
  • Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
  • Prior vascular access or PICC experience preferred
