Weekend Cashier

Position Summary

The Weekend Cashier is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and accurate customer service while creating a positive shopping experience for every customer. As the final point of contact, the Weekend Cashier plays an important role in leaving customers with a lasting impression of Marden's. Because Marden's is a surplus and salvage retailer, weekends are fast-paced and every day is different, making flexibility, accuracy, and excellent customer service essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
  • Accurately process customer purchases using the point-of-sale system.
  • Handle cash, credit cards, debit cards, checks, and other approved forms of payment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
  • Bagpurchasedmerchandise carefully and efficiently.
  • Answer basic customer questions and direct customers to the appropriate department or team member for assistance.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area.
  • Assist with keeping shopping bags, receipt paper, and other front-end supplies stocked.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Notify a supervisor or manager of customer concerns or situations requiring assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and complete transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable and available to work weekends.
