Job description

Job Summary:

An open, fully funded position for a research assistant is available in the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's & Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) (https://biggsinstitute.org/) Clinical and Population Cores.  We are looking for an exceptional candidate with interest in clinical research to join a collaborative team of clinicians, epidemiologists, research coordinators, statisticians, and more, conducting state-of-the art research on dementia.

The position provides opportunities to work with teams conducting research on dementia as part of the NIA-funded South Texas Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) and additional grants. The candidate will work closely with the Investigators and team members to participate in a variety of activities including recruitment, consenting, administering cognitive assessments, documentation, data entry, and quality control review.

The candidate will perform diverse research and administrative duties requiring sound judgment. The candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable accepting feedback and guidance from colleagues. The ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills are a must. Under general supervision, responsible for providing support in a clinical research environment.

Education:

Bachelor's degree is required, Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

Job Duties:

1.   Provides routine assistance in performing assigned and delegated tasks in support of research projects with human subjects.

2.    Performs assigned clerical and technical duties in a research or clinical setting.

3.   Assists investigator or manager with research studies, including collection of data, memory and thinking tests, questionnaires, and data entry.

4.    Performs routine tests with direction from supervisor, manager.

5.    Assists in conducting a variety of research projects of limited complexity, collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data.

6.    Performs all other duties as assigned.
