The Behavioral Sleep Medicine Laboratory (P.I. Kelly Baron, PhD, MPH) is recruiting a full-time research staff member to join our passionate team to work with us on ongoing projects of sleep, cardiometabolic disease and aging in diverse populations. The position entails working with the team to lead the research project, including screening and scheduling participants, coordinating data collection, participant retention, training and supervision of undergraduate research assistants. All studies are outpatient (no overnights) but there will be evening hours needed to conduct assessments (approximately 4-6 per month). Studies range from mechanistic to community engaged research on sleep and health and are conducted in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
  • Leads the team in the conduct of the research study, including regulatory (IRB) and supports the PI in collecting information for NIH reports.
  • Collaborates with the study team to meet goals for participant recruitment and screening.
  • Schedules and conducts study assessments, including administration of questionnaires. and cognitive assessments, sleep measurement equipment set up and download.
  • Complies with ethical standards for research involving human subjects.
  • Completes other activities as delegated by the PI and the project director.
  • Opportunities to contribute to scientific manuscripts and abstracts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or training in a health-related field (e.g., nursing, social work, psychology, kinesiology, nutrition, counseling etc.).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of research experience.
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish is preferred.
