We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese to join our dynamic team at Complete and Wellness Mind Care P.C. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work with an emphasis on in-home and outpatient therapy services tailored specifically for children facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of families and children, this role is designed for you.

About the Organization

Complete and Wellness Mind Care P.C. is committed to transforming the mental health landscape by providing comprehensive and personalized youth and family support services. Based in Chicago, Illinois, we specialize in delivering intensive, community-based therapeutic interventions that empower families and enhance the overall well-being of children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where families feel understood, respected, and equipped to navigate their unique challenges.

Work Environment

This role predominantly operates from a remote setting, ensuring flexibility while maintaining a strong focus on client-centered care. Our outpatient office serves as a hub for collaborative meetings and therapeutic sessions, allowing our therapists to engage face-to-face when necessary. We prioritize a supportive and dynamic work culture where team members are encouraged to share insights and strategies to foster professional growth and enhance the services we provide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or group therapy sessions in the outpatient facility, focusing on tailored interventions that address the specific needs of children and their families.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to improve children's coping mechanisms, anger management skills, and social interactions, while actively working to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
  • Collaborate extensively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to coordinate care and develop comprehensive treatment plans aimed at achieving desirable outcomes for youth and their caregivers.
  • Document and submit all therapy-related paperwork, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a timely manner to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings to provide feedback, share best practices, and contribute recommendations for program enhancements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with children aged 3 to 20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your role will involve not only direct therapeutic interventions but also supporting caregivers to manage behavioral issues at home. This position is integral to fostering better decision-making skills among families, ultimately promoting healthier home environments and improved mental health outcomes for children.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours (4-7 PM); weekend availability is a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support and working with children suffering from intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese to effectively communicate with a diverse client population.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for in-home sessions and community engagement.
  • Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure the safety of the children we serve.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and education. We offer a robust benefits package that includes:

  • Competitive pay structure that rewards your expertise and dedication.
  • Comprehensive group health insurance coverage.
  • Generous annual paid time off to ensure work-life balance.
  • Short and long-term disability insurance for added security.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions.

At Complete and Wellness Mind Care P.C., we believe in investing in our employees. We provide ongoing job training and development opportunities to help you grow in your career. As the organization expands, you'll have the chance to take on new responsibilities and potentially move into leadership roles, contributing to shaping our comprehensive care model.
