The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician 2 to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team!
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-Time / 40-hours per week
  • Day shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Perform specialized, technical pharmaceutical tasks such as maintaining a controlled substance area and/or automated medication distribution system, and area-specific specialized technical tasks such as hazardous drug preparation
  • This position provides opportunities to work in a fast paced, challenging, rewarding and diverse environment

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1
  • Prepare medications from a physician order which may include compounded sterile products, hazardous medications and extemporaneously prepared doses
  • Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations
  • Prepare sterile products and chemotherapy hazardous medications using appropriate aseptic technique according to USP 797 guidelines
  • Troubleshoot technical questions related to specialized area. Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy and medical staff for policies and procedures
  • Maintain all quality assurance documentation required for specialized duties
  • Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 or equivalent education/experience
LEGAL REQUIREMENT
State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
