Although most interactions will occur virtually, our therapists may occasionally conduct home visits as necessary, ensuring that we meet clients where they are. • Conduct in-depth psychosocial assessments and diagnose mental health conditions to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize multiple therapeutic modalities to provide short-term counseling for clients facing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and other psychosocial stressors.
• Engage in collaborative treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive care that includes follow-up assessments and crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide short-term case management to coordinate care and support for clients, focusing on their treatment goals.
• Participate as a proactive team member in crisis intervention, including assessment, de-escalation techniques, and communication with local mental health crisis teams when necessary.
• Facilitate collaboration with external agencies to create a network of support and continuity of care for clients post-crisis.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Sierra Mental Health Therapy, you will work primarily with a diverse outpatient population, including individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, chronic mental health conditions, and those seeking therapeutic support for life transitions. Our emphasis on evidence-based practices ensures that each patient receives tailored interventions designed to promote recovery and enhance their coping skills.

• A Master’s Degree in behavioral science, complemented by at least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
• Current and relevant BBS designation as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
• Demonstrated proficiency in providing clinical mental health services to individuals, families, and groups.
• Comprehensive understanding of various mental health disorders and effective therapeutic techniques.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to conduct home visits as necessary.

• 3+ years of experience specifically in outpatient mental health counseling.
• Familiarity with case management practices and crisis intervention protocols.
• Experience using telehealth platforms effectively and adeptly.
• Skilled in collaborative work as part of a treatment team.
