Job description

Radiology Technologist

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
  • Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
  • Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
  • Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
  • Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
  • Completes assigned goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum Required:

  • Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Education:

Minimum Required:

  • Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
  • Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.

Licensure:

Minimum Required:

  • ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.
