Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist andare responsible forpreparing patients for the exam,movingand instructing the patient into the proper position, correctlyoperatingthe equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonanceimagingand nuclear medicine.

A caregiver in this role works weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Perform general radiology exams, portableexamsand fluoroscopic procedures.

  • Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.

  • Acquire, archive,transmitand print images via PACS.

  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.

  • Educate patientsregardingprocedures,equipmentand exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.

  • Maintain documentation.

  • Addressequipmentmalfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.

  • Assistwith scheduling procedures,monitoranddeterminepriority of patients, and process billing.

  • May float to select medical building for contracted support.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes

  • Strong communicationskills are essential to provide excellent care to patients and families

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $29.00

Maximum hourly: $44.50
