Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Graduation from an accredited radiology program from an accredited college or university; supplemented with five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Experience - A minimum of five (5) years as a radiographer with two (2) years supervisory experience.
Licenses & Certification - Current registration with ARRT or equivalent as a technologist. CPR certification.
Knowledge & Skills -
  1. Knowledge of financial management.
  2. Knowledge of project management and advanced management skills
  3. Possesses and demonstrates interpersonal and human relation skills.
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  5. Possesses a detail-oriented, analytical skill set to problem solve.
  6. Ability to build strong relationships with medical and administrative staff.
  7. General computer knowledge, operating systems, and terminology.
  8. Possesses knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
  9. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
JOB SUMMARY
Under administrative direction, coordinates department activities including budget development and project management. Is responsible for hiring, directing, and evaluating radiology staff; is responsible for data collection and reporting; manages contracts and negotiations, and manages compliance initiatives. This is an Exempt position as applicable to the provisions of the FLSA.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an ambulatory and non-ambulatory health center environment. There is common exposure to infectious communicable disease, potentially hazardous chemicals, and biohazardous materials. Incumbent must be aware of all risks involved, and be willing to take precautions as required and requested. Special attire may be required as protection against infection and radiation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work requires long periods of standing, walking and office work. Working with patients requires recurring bending, lifting, stretching and positioning patients. Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds is required to perform positional duties. Incumbent must be able to cope with constant changes in a stress-laden environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
  1. Participates in the strategic planning of the department; plans, directs, and coordinates departmental activities; provides advice, counsel, and education to the staff.
  2. Administers departmental finances; directs preparation of various budgets; negotiates contracts.
  3. Maintains open communication and serves as liaison to MCNDH personnel to assure coordination of radiology operations.
  4. Oversees project management.
  5. Establish, review and revise policies and procedures for the operations of the Radiology Department.
  6. Responsible for maintaining professional licensures, certifications/registrations and required continuing education as mandated by ARRT.
  7. Coordinates with contract radiologists and under their general supervision ensures regulations and standards are met.
  8. Performs other duties as required.
