A-MED Ambulance is hiring Communications Center Dispatchers to support ambulance and wheelchair van operations in New Orleans. Dispatchers are the first point of contact for patients, facilities, and crews. You will answer calls, document trip details, and coordinate unit responses. The role requires excellent customer service, multitasking, and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
• Answer and triage incoming calls from hospitals, nursing facilities, and the public
• Collect patient and trip details and enter them into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
• Dispatch ambulance and wheelchair units quickly and accurately
• Communicate updates to crews and relay patient information to receiving facilities
• Document calls, cancellations, and crew activity accurately in CAD
