Who you are:
We are looking for a Research and Evaluation Coordinator (Volunteer) to help evaluate our educational programs, to contribute methodology, evaluation plans, and data analysis skills to the development team.
It is an unpaid volunteer role with internship provided as needed. As a member of the research & evaluation team, you will be responsible for designing the measurement of the impact and behavioral changes in students who participate in Passion for Life, Inc.

Your role
  • Assist in designing specific data collection instruments to evaluate program participants, programs such as pre-/post-tests surveys, assessments, interview guides, and focus group protocols.
  • Develop and review surveys, forms, and other data collection activities to ensure content and format are appropriate to promote clarity and responsiveness.
  • Conduct evaluation activities developed by the operations team, including the development of effective data collection, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative methods to develop and execute evaluation projects.
  • Identify program needs based on data collected and analyzed.
  • Ensuring that all changes in programs are well documented.
  • Work closely with the research and evaluation team to provide outcome reporting for proposal writing and author text for evaluation plans.
  • Design research presentations and reports for key stakeholders.
  • Conduct and analyze interviews with volunteer coaches and leadership.

Your skills
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Management, Nonprofit Management, Research development, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Must be classified as a Junior or Senior.
  • Adequate experience using quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc).
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; attention to detail is required.
  • Experience with using and translating data to communicate program successes and impact.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Experience as a research assistant is a plus.
