Job description

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities pertaining to the Quality Program and providing direction and assistance to Quality Inspector(s)/Auditor(s). This person is responsible of overseeing and ensuring quality standards are being met throughout the production and shipping departments. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Day to day work involves careful inspections and the enforcement of quality standards. Other essential responsibilities of Lead Quality Auditor include:

  • Overseeing accurate execution of work on the floor pertaining to Quality Program.
  • Serve as a senior quality check on inspections ensuring products adhere to quality standard.
  • Responsible for preparing and providing Quality inspection reports in a timely fashion.
  • Oversees Quarantine process. Maintains logs and associated communications related to Quarantine procedure.
  • Conducts and/or participates in Internal Audits.
  • Participate in quality incident investigations including Root Cause Analysis, and CA/PA.
  • Managing the workflow of Quality auditors, creating team schedules, and delegating tasks.
  • Assessing the work performance of employees and identifying areas that need improvement.
  • Training and onboarding new hires to make sure they understand their role.
  • Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • High School Graduate or GED (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
  • Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of direct experience in Quality Auditor role or,
  • 5 or more years of direct experience in a Supervision/ Leadership Role.

  • Experience in petrochemical or related industries (preferred)
  • Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK (required)
  • Experience with internal audits for quality assurance (required)
  • Regulatory Background in DOT, IMDG, IATA, OSHA (required)
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Previous participation in ISO 9001 or similar business certification programs (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to completion and prioritize appropriately.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (includes communications to team members and communications to supervision and management).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and understand new skills and concepts as it relates to operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Accuracy in the work generated.
  • Selfstarter, able to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • 30% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, walking and viewing.
  • 70% outdoors in variable climates and temperatures. Includes walking, standing and climbing.
