Role Overview

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the design and development of sophisticated data streaming platforms using Kafka, ensuring alignment with best practices.

  • Architect and build robust microservices in Python that facilitate real-time data processing and system integrations.

  • Develop and optimise Kafka Connectors and utilise Kafka Streams to enable real-time analytics and complex data transformations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft end-to-end data pipelines, prioritising reliability, low latency, and data consistency.

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance on Kafka best practices, schema management, and efficient Python development standards.



Essential Skills & Experience



  • Extensive hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka technologies, including Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, KSQL, and Schema Registry.

  • Proven proficiency in Python programming for backend services, automation, and data engineering.

  • Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience integrating diverse data sources such as SQL and NoSQL databases and managing complex data workflows.
