Job description

Job Title: Public Health Educator

?? Location: Raeford, NC
?? Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
?? Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and community-focused Public Health Educator to support a local health department in Raeford, NC. This entry-level role involves assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of public health education programs designed to improve community health outcomes.

The ideal candidate is passionate about public health, enjoys working with diverse populations, and is interested in helping individuals and communities recognize and address health concerns through education and outreach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze health and community data to support planning of public health education programs
  • Assist in organizing community groups to identify and address local health issues
  • Support planning and participation in workshops, conferences, and educational discussions
  • Develop educational materials, including exhibits and visual aids
  • Prepare news releases and radio announcements on public health topics
  • Deliver presentations on health topics and available health department services to community groups and organizations
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • General knowledge of community health agencies and their functions
  • Understanding of methods used to develop and distribute public health education materials
  • Familiarity with creating visual aids such as posters, displays, and exhibits
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively to groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff, community partners, and the public
