Job description

Firetrol Protection Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Fire Alarm Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and completion of commercial and industrial fire alarm projects. This position works closely with project managers, field supervisors, technicians, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. This opening will be for out Houston, TX location.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the fire alarm or low-voltage industry and possess strong communication, scheduling, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities for fire alarm installation and construction projects 
  • Assist Project Managers with scheduling manpower, materials, inspections, and project milestones 
  • Track project progress, labor hours, equipment deliveries, and documentation 
  • Manage project files including drawings, submittals, RFIs, permits, and closeout documents 
  • Support procurement of fire alarm equipment and materials 
  • Schedule inspections, testing, programming, and customer training 
  • Maintain communication with customers, AHJs, and internal departments 
  • Ensure projects comply with NFPA 72, NEC, local codes, and company standards 
  • Assist with project reporting, change orders, and billing documentation

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in fire alarm, low voltage, electrical construction, or project coordination 
  • Knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems such as Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, or Edwards preferred 
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and project documentation 
  • Ability to read blueprints and fire alarm drawings 
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking software 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
  • NICET certification is a plus
