As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to project planning, monitoring, and coordination. Your attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks will aid in delivering projects on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Communication:

  • Stakeholder Communication: Knowledge of effective communication practices to provide updates, address inquiries, and maintain stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with the construction team, following directions and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Contractor Relations: Maintain communication with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to coordinate orders and deliveries.

Scope:

  • Project Planning: Assist the Project Manager(s) in managing, coordinating, and administering the project through all phases of design, construction, and post-construction.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and various teams to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project milestones, deliverables, and tasks to identify any deviations from the project plan.
  • Team Meeting: Actively participate and/or lead any Owner/Architect/Construction Management Agent (OAC), coordination, trade contractor, scheduling, and any other meetings.
  • Team Meeting Coordination: Coordinate to schedule meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor project quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and stakeholder specifications.
  • Issue Resolution: Address project-related issues and challenges promptly, seeking guidance from the Project Manager and/or Superintendent as needed and keeping them fully informed in a timely fashion regarding any to all problem areas on the project.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project needs, handle unexpected challenges, and adjust project plans accordingly.
  • Documentation: Aids in the preparation, expediting, and monitoring of documents (reports, schedules, invoices, ASIs, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, punch lists, inspections, closeout, and stakeholder presentations).
  • Report Generation: Prepare project status reports, updates, and presentations for project managers and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize the procurement process, reduce lead times, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

Knowledge:

  • Construction Processes: Familiarity with construction project lifecycles, phases, and activities from planning to completion.
  • Project Management Principles: Understanding of basic project management concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Project Coordination: Understanding of coordinating project tasks, teams, and resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Blueprint Reading: Knowledge in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
