Reporting to the Director for Health Center Operations and Administration, the wellbeing graduate assistant will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of health promotion and education for the George Washington University.
Position Specific Summary
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading or support initiatives, campaigns, and programs in our unit priority areas: substance use, mental health, and sexual health, and peer education development
  • Supporting existing unit events and programs, such as Chalk-In, Final Lap, and Camp Wellbeing, and National Eating Disorder Awareness (NEDA) week.
  • Assisting in unit program design, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with other Division for Student Affairs offices to align and co-create student wellbeing-focused social media content.
  • Coordinate marketing and outreach for unit events, programming, resources, and services.
  • Assisting with additional unit needs as appropriate.
  • Attend departmental and division meetings and professional development opportunities, as necessary.
  • Working approximately 15-20 hours per week.

The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC, and will be an in-person role. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization, and be enrolled in a graduate program at the George Washington University.
Standard Position Description
The student will assist in the management and leading of special projects. Tasks may include: leading and organizing mid to large scale projects, designing project timelines and goals, performing research, coordinating with stakeholders and the project team, reporting updates and outcomes with project leaders, building and organizing leadership development programs for students, managing student staff. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
