Job description

Tecovas is passionate about offering an incredible customer experience for first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike! The first shop-in-shop location will debut at Bass Pro Shops' Grandaddy store in Springfield, Mo. We're looking for a talented Part-Time Team Lead that will bring an immersive Tecovas retail experience to Bass Pro Shops' customers, contribute to a profitable and customer-centric environment through the development of a team and management of our total store operations. You will support product flow and apply merchant and customer service skills to curate a compelling in-store experience.
Responsibilities will include:
LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Supports the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent
  • Supports the Store Manager in creating and maintaining a succession strategy
  • Fosters a culture of strong communication and teamwork to ensure a seamless balance between operational, visual, and customer priorities
  • Administers performance appraisals, sets goals, and conducts consistent touch-bases with direct reports
  • Effectively delegates tasks and communicates clear expectations to keep the floor running smoothly
  • Leads proactive coaching conversations - addressing performance in the moment, not after the fact
  • Handles difficult situations and customer escalations with confidence and composure
  • Maintains a visible, accessible presence on the sales floor - especially during peak hours

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

VISUAL AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS
  • Opens and closes the store, ensuring all operational standards are met
  • Facilitates the sharing of product knowledge across the team
  • Upholds stock-to-sales processes, presentation standards, and manages product placement
  • Maintains an effective store structure, floor plan, and appropriate fixture usage
  • Upholds and ensures compliance with shipments, transfers, and restock standards
  • Adheres to and develops awareness around internal and external Loss Prevention procedures
  • Supports financial operations including payroll tracking and deposit logs
  • Assists with in-store events, including outreach, coordination, and follow-up as needed

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years Retail Management experience
  • Availability to work 25-30 hours per week (hours vary by week and may increase based on shipment volume and store needs)
  • Exceptional leadership, delegation, selling, and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to lead coaching conversations, navigate conflict, and handle difficult situations with professionalism
  • Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results
  • Proven record of hiring and developing great talent
  • Independent, proactive, results-driven work ethic
  • Utmost character, honesty, and transparency

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required (College Degree preferred)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, and be able to reach overhead, bend, squat, and kneel as you organize and stock inventory
  • Must understand and implement Loss Prevention practices
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and perform store maintenance tasks
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), evenings, and holidays as needed
