PRN Registered Nurse

Provides nursing services to the medical unit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provides medication evaluation, medication checks, calls in prescriptions, obtains samples, sometimes may provide individual, group and family therapy and subsequent paperwork.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities
  • Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team
  • Participates in peer review process for therapists
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

RN: Graduation from a four-year state accredited school of nursing and one year of experience in psychiatric nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
