At our full-scope private practice, we are committed to providing thorough, personalized eye care while taking the time to make sure every patient understands their eye health and treatment options. We provide comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, dry eye treatment, specialty contact lenses, and other services within the full scope of optometry. What You'll Need:
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid Virginia license to practice optometry (or eligibility to obtain)

This is a full-scope general optometry position where you'll have the opportunity to provide comprehensive care. The practice sees a wide variety of primary care and medical eye conditions, allowing you to utilize the full extent of your optometric training.

You'll provide comprehensive eye exams, manage ocular disease, treat dry eye, fit specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses, and provide other services within your scope of practice. You'll also educate patients about their treatment options and make appropriate recommendations when additional products or services may benefit their eye health. There are no direct sales responsibilities.

The practice places a strong emphasis on taking the time to thoroughly explain findings and recommendations to patients. You'll be part of an environment where patients leave understanding their eye health and the care they receive.

Schedule:

We believe in maintaining a strong work-life balance with a consistent Mondayโ€“Friday schedule and no weekends required.

Wise Office Hours:
Mondayโ€“Friday: 9:00 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM

We have another location in Bristol, VA. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working at both locations, with the possibility of rotating to the alternate location one day per week. However, there is flexibility for a clinician who prefers to work exclusively at the Bristol or Wise location so it is NOT a requirement to go to both offices.

Our office generally schedules patients every 15 minutes. There is flexibility to reduce the pace at Wise to approximately two patients per hour for a clinician who prefers a less demanding schedule.
